CBU Symphonic Band

An inspiring and challenging group, young musicians who wish to grow and master their instrument can take the next step. This group of young musicians is expected to play at the best of their ability with CBU Concert Band. 

Auditions Requirements: high school student grades 9-12, must audition.  


Incoming and returning students please sign up for an Audition Request. Date TBD Late July or Early August. You will be contacted about a month before your audition time. 

Audition Requirements:

  • Prepared piece(s): solo, étude, or excerpt of ensemble music demonstrating both lyrical and technical abilities

  • Major scales (Concert Bb, Eb, F, and C major scales)

  • Sight reading

Audition will last about 10 minutes.

CBU Scholarship Credits Earned: Students earn $1500 for each semester enrolled in the class

Dress Code: 

Guys: Collared shirt, pants or jeans without holes. No flip flops.

Girls: Nice casual, modest with respect to necklines and skirt lengths. No flip flops.

Class: Tuesdays / 7:00 - 8:45 pm / CBU Music Building
