Band Ensembles

Beginning Band

This program will launch students from zero experience to students who have learned to read music, perform at a basic level and continue to grow in the mastery of their instrument. The Concert Band focuses on learning and performing symphonic works from a variety of time periods, exploring unique arrangements of classics, and fun marching tunes. Fall Semester includes one complementary private lesson. 

 

Band instruments include: bassoon, clarinet, flute, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion and more!

 

Equipment Needed: Instrument, portable black music stand, and own instrument cleaning and maintenance items.

Students should bring a pencil to class.

Prerequisite: No previous experience is needed. For student in Grade 5+.

Concert Band (Beginning)

Patriotic Melody Spring Concert 2017

Intermediate Band

For young musicians who have studied their instrument for at least two years. This program is designed to give young musicians a full band experience, and grow in their musicianship (music theory), have the opportunity to attend master classes, and participate in ensembles. Fall Semester includes one complementary private lesson. 

 

Prerequisite: Students must audition 

Equipment Needed: Instrument, portable black music stand, and own instrument cleaning and maintenance items.

Students should bring a pencil to class.

CBU Honor Symphonic Band

An inspiring and challenging group, young musicians who wish to grow and master their instrument can take the next step. This group of young musicians is expected to play at the best of their ability with CBU Symphonic Band. 

Prerequisite: by audition.
