While prior musical training is not necessary to participate in the various Choirs of IEMA, a vocal assessment is required for singers in grades 2-12. Choristers should register for their choir of choice below and verify their Assessment time in the registration confirmation email. Choristers will be placed in the appropriate choir group based on their skills, maturity, and readiness. Singers do not need to have a prepared audition piece.

The group vocal assessment process is quick and simple. A choir director will listen for the singer’s ability to match pitches. 

 

Choristers may be asked to attend the Call Back time on the Annual Assessment day to do the following:

• to learn a simple tune

• to hold one’s voice part against others.
