California Baptist University has partnered with Inland Empire Musical Arts to promote musical development of youth in the local community.

Ways to Participate

It is our privilege to welcome you to the Young Musicians Program at CBU presented by Inland Empire Musical Arts (IEMA) establish Fall of 2018. 

Honor Ensembles for Students Grades 9-12:

Honor CBU Symphonic Band

Honor String Orchestra

Encore Honor Choir

*Students in Honor Ensembles can earn between $1000-1500 in scholarship credits through California Baptist University each semester enrolled.

Investing in the Future

Collinsworth School of Music at California Baptist University seeks to invest in young musicians and encourage music education throughout the Inland Empire. To this end, students who participate in certain honor classes through the CBU Young Musicians Program with Inland Empire Musical Arts are eligible to receive scholarship funds toward future study at California Baptist University. High School students, who enroll for the CBU Young Musicians Program, will also be able to earn the following CBU Scholarship fund amounts.


Honor Ensemble Scholarship fund potential:

Encore Honor Choir - $1,000 per semester

Honor Symphonic Band - $1,500 per semester

Honor String Orchestra - $1,500 per semester

Prerequisite: students must be in high school grades 9-12 and must audition to be accepted into the above courses. 


Students can accumulate scholarships funds for up to two honor ensembles, listed above, at the same time. Funds accumulated are spread out over the 4-year period students are enrolled at California Baptist University.


Additional Funds:

Students who show great ability in their skill set have the potential to earn additional scholarships funds once they audition as incoming CBU Freshman.
